Each year the Preston City Mela board has to raise a baseline amount of funds to be able to bring the festival to the people of our city. While we pride ourselves in our pursuit for ‘quality’ we also value the ‘intimate’ size of the event – but even the moderate scale of our festival costs a considerable amount of money by the time you have factored in security, logistics, organisational & creative fees and insurances. Each year fundraising gets more and more difficult to do, so over the next few years we are going to try and develop alternative income streams that will sit alongside (and ease the burden of) our funding applications.
The development of a range of ‘PCM merchandise’ is in the pipeline, along with a number of ‘PCM creative services’ and ‘PCM membership packages’. Until then we are quite simply wandering if you would be interested in donating some of your hard earned monies into our ‘cultural chest’.
