Preston City Mela CIC supports lifelong learning, enabling Board Members and Volunteers to enhance their skills for innovation, performance, and meeting our strategic goals.”

Vision & Purpose

Professional development is a way of valuing Board Members and Volunteers is vital for delivering efficient, high-quality service. Maintaining and growing individual roles supports effective service delivery.

Methods of Development: 

The organisation’s training and professional development shall:

  • Align with the Mela function’s strategic direction.

  • Enhance the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of Mela services.

  • Inform Board Members and Volunteers about available professional development funds and access.

  • Require Board Members and Volunteers to share knowledge gained from professional development activities with colleagues.

  • The policy lead will identify and communicate any training and development opportunities that arise, and will coordinate necessary support subject to the availability of funds and resources.
